I was coming back into our office car park at lunchtime when I noticed half a dozen newly fledged swallows lined up on the fence. The adults were occasionally flying in to feed them. Unfortuately I only had about 15 minutes left of my lunch hour to try and get a photo of which the one below probably the best, but not the photo I had in my head to capture. However, I thought I would give it another go for an hour after work. So I sat staring at spreadsheets all afternoon while the swallows were whizzing around in the sun outside. Unfortunately as the end of the working day approached so did a darkening sky which turned into a downpour at leaving time.
Hopefully I will be able to get back across to the office carpark over the weekend for another try. At least I now know why they are called 'swallows' ;)

Stunning image - apart from the wooden man-made perch, this is stunning - amazing interaction captured! Well done and good luck with capturing the image you are after.
Thanks for the replies. The suggestion of a branch for the young to sit on is a good one although there are not mant spare lying round our office car park. However I have never seen a young swallow perched on anything but a fence, telephone wire or length or barbed wire. I was going to have another go at them over the weekend but have been too busy, so I think I will make an early journey to work tomorrow to see if I can catch up with them again.
