I captured this last week and it is my best effort at a pan blur in 4 years. In all honesty I was just walking before work not looking for anything specific. When I saw this nice male coming by me I could not resist.

I do wish the background was more uniform, and or the head was in a lighter area.

    Thanks for looking and comments.

    Hi Larry,

This is a really nice pan blur. I love the blurred wings, blurred bg, and sharp head. You already mentioned the only nits. Well done.

Very cool image. I love the motion blur and the blur in the wings. A bit of SH toold and some selective dodging or cloning on the white side might be worth trying.

I like it. My big concern is that the eye needs some work... Darkening the pupil would be the place to start followed by getting rid of some of the funkiness (i.e., odd reflections).

I agree with Artie that the big catchlight (?) in the eye is distracting.

1/200th looks like a good compromise of blur at the wings and sharpness at the head, very nice. I agree with you a lighter area at the head would be better.
