    Nice wingflap pose, and good job on the exposure - what looks to be dappled light surely helped you with that. I'm finding the comp a little on the tight side, and a catchlight would help bring life to the eye. Still very nice :-)

    same as daniel wrote above for compo and that may make this a fantastic shot by adding space arround.

    I like the pose, details and angle. Another vote for more room and I would lighten the eye. Did they already feed the young?

    Hi Ed,

    I like the pose but the eye looks a bit dead to me. If you ever go an photograph puffins in light like this I'd recommend using some fill-flash to bring some life into the eye.

    Not easy to manage the whites and blacks on that bird but you've done it perfectly for this photo.

    If you can, I would give me more space on left and top. I wonder if with more ISO you could have frozen the wing behing or if it was out of the DOF.
