These guys are really nippy and hyper-active so I took the shot when he presented himself sitting quietly for about 2 seconds.

    Canon 1000D with 100-400 L IS USM @ 275mm
    f8.0 @ 1/800 SS @ ISO 400

The BG is the water of a wetland, all natural.

Your comments and advice will be appreciated!

    Hi Morkel.
I think that the PP work around the edge of the bird specifically at the bill could do with a bit tidying up. It makes the tip of the bill look soft. (I think that this is due to the selection and NR method?)
The feather detail and light on the bird looks good to me and I like the comp.

I like the eye contact and pose and agree on more sharpening. I would also remove one of the catchlights and adjust the midtones to make it a bit darker.

Great close up, and love the light on the eye. Very alert pose, and agree with removing one of the catchlights. Well captured Mork.

thanks for the feedback guys - I will give this a rework sometime as I believe this is maybe a too large crop to begin with.
