Stuart, Very nice pose and overall a good picture. Only negatives are head angle and maybe the shadow on the tail. Congrats.

NIce exposure techs, looks like you were wide open with great shutter speed. Composition is about feel and I will make my suggestions. The head is imaged against the wing (not wrong, just a nit for me) and a water reflection coming thru his legs is a bit distracting. Looks like the intersection of feet and water might have been worked a bit and could use some transition. I might take a bit off the bottom and top as well. This is a wonderful picture of a graceful and beautiful bird, overall well done.

I like the graceful pose and reflection. I would crop a little from above to eliminate the pale band. There does seem to be something odd happening where the legs enter the water.

stuart this is nice pose you've captured. agree with some leg portion mixup.

to me 1% ccw rotation required. some selective sharpness on wings can enhance a bit more attraction on the bird.

Lovely image Stuart - I really love this bird - wish we got them here in South Africa. Sharpness looks good, but just not a fan of the square crop. I might crop a tad off the bottom and add room to the right.

Nice capture Stuart. I agree with Tony on removing/reducing the light band above and with Mital on the rotation. The bill in front of the wing is fine with me as it still stands out.
A bit more space on the right could improve the comp.
