    Default Willet

Went down to the marsh today (it's been raining forever here) and the willet's and common tern's were mobbing everything in sight including me and my son. These little guys are fast and I had a real hard time keeping focus with my equipment! We still had fun though. I cropped a little from the left and bottom. All C/C welcomed. Thanks for looking.

P.S. I bought the Lens Pen from Birds as Art and while hesitant to use it on my sensor, it was so easy and I didn't need to remove any dust spots from any pictures today. I know, I know, I sound like a commercial right! Last time I had my sensor cleaned at the local photo store it cost me around 80 dollars and it still wasn't clean. The lady there told me it was because my camera was old!? I believed her too!

Nice wing position, and I like the calling pose. The bird looks soft, and I would sharpen it a little more. Also the BG is a bit noisy especially at the top.

    Nice job.

Hey Brian, As for the image, the sharpest focus is on the near primaries. And with the head turned away from you, the head is quite soft and could possibly benefit from some selective sharpening. I do loe the wing position.

Thanks for the plug for the Lens Pen; it does work. Did you get the Sensor Scope? Someone recently told me that I was old...

I like the eye contact and open bill and I would sharpen the bird more. It would have been great to see a bit of the far wing, too. Interesting cleaning story!

Thanks to everyone for the pointers. I selectively sharpened the head and also just a tad on the rest of the body. I also tried to reduce some of the BG noise.
Artie: I got the bundle without the sensor scope. It only took two tries to completely clean my sensor and it was pretty bad. The lens pen really is a miracle.

    The sharpness looks good now.

Hey Brian, The repost is much better but you cannot improve the head angle...

Be sure to get a Sensor Scope for your birthday. I makes cleaning 100 times easier and you have already found it easy!
