Amazing exposure job Fabs. The whites are a bit bright to my taste but not a single pixel is on hot or in the 255 level (well, just only three pixels). You did a very good fitting of the histogram to the right. The low angle is fantastic and I like a lot the look of the plover and the creamy, bicolored background. Another killer image!
Fabs, I really enjoy these type of images showing the DOF effect. Super angle, and love the soft light and colours. I would maybe take a bit off the top.
Fabs, this is another nice image from you. I love the color and as Juan said very well exposed. I like it as it is, wouldn't crop or darken it.
Wonderful use of DoF, great foreground and the infinity of the background, I like it.
agree with juan.
superb shot btw.
I would do
Mask bird and some pixel height of stones on ground same level
Then
H&S
Shadow 0,0,0
Highlights 20,50,30
Color correction +20
Midtone Correction -10
I am with Stuart in that I would prefer a little of the top, but this is a smashing image anyway. He really is camouflaged in his habitat and I like the fact that the picture is made up mainly of shades of one colour :)

Great angle, setting, light and interesting composition, too. I might lighten the eye and wish the head were not angled away from you.
Mital, thanks for taking the time to repost my image.
Your numbers may be technically correct and closer to an ideal average, but sometimes there is more to an image than techs.
I wanted to exaggerate my whites as much as possible, as artistic license, to illustrate and share the blinding light that you find in a huge Florida beach, with all that white sand, especailly for such a small bird, almost lost in it.
Making the whites more neutral, looses what I wanted to communicate.
I do appreciate your input and others, just explaining why sometimes there a reason behind a certain way to present things:)
Thanks all for your feedback, very much appreciated.
I like the shades of colour and tone in this Fabs! your original as presented is perfect for me. such a tiny bird, you do get the feeling that it's stuck in an immense uniform landscape...super shot!
The o-of stone behind the neck, the sand on the bill, and most importantly the head angled away are problematic in an otherwise lovely image. I like the single curled primary and I liked Mitals' version too.
Thanks for the call today; wish I could have come down.

extraordinary image Fabs., I like it a lot! along with your soft "touch" editing, an excellent view.. the head angle is also wonderful imo.
Yeah, a super image for me Fabs. I read your reasoning for the heating of whites and can understand perfectly. Good thinking. What a great little fellow. Artie did all the heavy-handed stuff! :)
Cheers.
I really love this image....there ia a wonderful delicate feel to it ,due to size of subject within its surroundings.. great use of dof isolating your subject .. great angle giving us the plovers perspective on his world..
love it... well done

Exactly....!!! I really like this one...the colours work really well with that lovely white and most important I love the headturn here. Sometimes we can get too technical about photography...while photography is about emotions. Ask John Doe...he will probably like it because it does something to him, and not because of some technical detail.
Great work, Fabs. I like the strong composition, but I think taking a little off the bottom would balance the image more. Love the creativity.
I like the original. Your intentions as explained are well conveyed by it.
I think the image is outstanding and both images work well for me though I can appreciate the original MUCH better now with your insight behind it!
