    Richard,

A pleasing scene. I like the shadows on the ground due to the clouds. Exposed well to allow the shadows full detail w/o any of the clouds blowing out in the whites. I like the layers formed in the image by the varying colors from FG to BG - that creates depth and leads the viewers eye through the image. Nice work.

    Robert,

    Thanks for the critique.

I should have mentioned that this was an experiment with Photomatrix except with a twist. I didn't shoot three separate frames but developed three tiffs from the original RAW capture... one as shot, one +1 EV and the other -1 EV and then combined them in PM. I didn't have to worry about added noise in the +1 EV since the image was taken at ISO 100 and there wasn't a lot of deep shadows.

The above image didn't print to my satisfaction even though I liked the screen version... the sky was a bit too dark and appeared dirty (they weren't thunderclouds). Below is the image I settled on for a print.

    Hey Richard,
I think I prefer the original post with maybe a hair more lightening/contrast of the mountain. I have looked at this with a crop off the bottom.....no grass... and find that I prefer that better because of the difference of textures.....seems out of place with the rest. Let's see what others chime in. Nice job on the pseudo HDR too....very convincing and not over done! Nice job composing this one.
