It's great to see this species in flight, I also like the warm light and BG.

Beautiful shot of the Bittern. For a bird that's hard to see in the open, this is a winner. Golden hour light works so well with marshy settings. Nice to see no shadows under both wings. IMO an out-stretched neck might work better for the composition.

This is really good for a couple of reasons. Light, color and subject matter. I don't remember seeing too many BIFs of this species. Thanks for sharing James. :)

The lighting and the background are excellent. What I really like is the blurred wing tips, those really add a sense of movement to the image.

great BG, colour, exposure and flight angle - we have a similar one here in SA and it's also very shy and getting a shot in flight is a rarity. so very well done from me!

Super comp, and I like the placement of the bittern in the frame. Pin, pin sharp, and love the warm colours in this. Very well captured.

Super job Jim! Locking focus must have been tough, but you locked on with the bird flying towards you; well done! Speaking of "another look" I like your new avatar.

James, this is a lovely shot by its warm colors, nice details and perfect wing position not talking about the sharpness on eye.
