Pine Warblers - Male and Female

    Harris Co, TX

    D2Xs, 600 MM, ISO 250, f7 @ 1/500, - 0.7 EV, fill @ -1.7.

I had this pair of Pine Warblers coming down to suet. The male was so tame he would eat from my finger. Out of the few frames I got of both the male and female together, only one frame had the heads in a good position.

I knew it was your from the thumbnail :)
Excellent job of getting both in the frame, and with a pleasing composition.
I love the way the branches radiate out in a great arrangement, thanks for sharing and always a treat to have you here.

Amazing to get both birds in sharp focus - and perfectly placed on an attractive perch too! Very well done, Alan.

    Alan:

Very nice as mentioned by Fabs and Steve. the tree is lovely and the framing it provides is great. Was this one a setup? If so, how did you keep the tree buds so fresh?

    Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful setting, BG and great to have both male and female in the frame. Sometimes when I look at an image I'm quite certain who made it. :)

Thanks Randy, as mentioned, the birds were coming to suet. I set the perch up next to the suet. The cut perch was placed in a bottle of water held in place by a tripod. Hope that helps.

Alan...one of the best images I have seen in a while. The design of it is fantastic. And with the birds facing in different directions.....WOW !! Infact the design is so good, that I think I will prefer less tight crop with more flowers and smaller birds :-)

I had read in one of your interviews that you visualize images beforehand...but I bet this surprised even you.

Alan, I like the composition with the male and female perfectly framed by the lovely branches-not to mention the beautiful BG that looks carefully painted!!

    Alan:

Thanks for the info re: the setup. I thought you must have some magic to keep your perches looking so fresh.

Now lets see, I have all this old light stands around, I will have to get out a few super clamps and see what I can rig up!

    Lovely picture.

Stunning image Alan! To my mind this is perfect! Lovely comp, colours, BG, getting good head angles on both birds and those small flowers add power to this! Well done!
