also like the perch, and this is exposed very nicely. feels as though it could use a little overall lightening? pops nicely from the BG

Good work with that ISO Steve, and love these guys too. I wish I could just have sight of one them, to be able to add to my gallery. I like the half sleepy look, and he sure chose a cool perch. I would add a bit on top, and try and blend in those blue light spots in the BG.

I love these birds too, but mine have finished raising their chicks, and I can no longer find them during daylight hours. I like the look and perch, but as the limb is so big I wonder if adding a bit more room back in would help. I agree about the light blue spots and would also remove the little branch in the upper left corner. The light is good, and fits the sleepy mood!

Hi Steve, Composition is so personal, but I see that you cropped a bit from the top and bottom. I could envision this with a bit more room, esp up top, and more of that branch included. Adds a framing element as well as environment.
PS- wouldn't mind seeing this posted a bit larger, as allowed.

Great Image Sir..Love the expo and overall feel of the image. I more vote for knocking off the blue patch.

I like the pose, perch and details. Another vote for more room top and bottom and the removal of the blue patch left of the bird.

Agreed on patch removal. A very nice looking bird and well lit too. :)
