With the weather too hot to go out and shoot, I decided to download some Topaz filters and play with some old images from Newfoundland. This has been hard for me as I'm not one to think outside the box and have the creativity of a rock. However, I had a delightful day playing. The problem is that I played so much that I'm not quite sure what I did to achieve the image but it was a combination of Topaz Clean and Topaz Simplicity. The original image was full frame photographed with a Canon 1D and an 100-400mmL IS lens. It was made from a moving boat in less than calm water. I never had done anything with the image as it was so "bland".
HI Lana,
You have a fabulous image here and your reprocessing has really lifted it out I think. This is evidence of YOUR creativity. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lana, I think this has a bit of an abstract feel to it and I love it! The soft muted colors and the diagonal lines going thru the image gives a nice anchor to the many puffins. When you first look at it you see alot of little things, then your eye starts to go around the image and it holds your interest. I like the effect Topaz had on the rocks. Very creative!!!

I like it. I was so in to using the filter that I really didn't think about the cropping. The increase in color and contrast add a nice "punch" to it. I was having a hard time as to "where to draw" the line with manipulation and lost sight of the basics. Thanks.
