Very nice Grace indeed. I do find the black/white diagonal band in the BG dominating my view. Great moment though. :)

Well Done Grace! Great interaction shot I like the surrounding habitat and the chick staying huddled close to the
    adult for protection and warmth.

I like the juxtaposition of snoozing chick and protective parent. Good angle, details and eye contact. Is that a skimmer in the BG?

Nice job on detail in the eye. Really like the habitat you kept in this one.

this is very nice! love the environmental setting and the detail, as well as the difference in attitude of chick to parent.

Axel, yes that is a skimmer. Thanks everyone for looking and for commenting. I framed this one to include the black skimmer as I felt that it added the element of danger lurking. (They will grab and eat young tern chicks who venture into their space).

Loved the Image... tells a story, loved the low angle and the moms pose.

The low angle, and tilted head with the open beak makes this for me. Nice and sharp, and I would maybe try and lighten the eye slightly.

Sweet image Grace. Love the fantastic quality of the light, the open bill, the red color against the green... everything. I only would prefer the BG without the skimmer. BTW, I can´t imagine how Axel identified that dark area with a skimmer !!!!
