Default Gadwall against pollen filled pond

The duck was attracted by some cracked corn sprinkled on the edge of a small pond. This was the only time he came close and it's a bigger crop than I'd like. The pollen comes from poplar trees.

Held up pretty well for the crop. I really don't like the pollen, but there is nothing you could have done about that. If it were not already a big crop, I would take some space from the bottom and right, as the reflection is not adding much.

Clean water would have been awesome, but the pluses are for me the way you framed the image and the fact that it is soooooo sharp and well rendered. When you say big crop, how big is big? Contrast and saturation seem fine.

Caroline, I like the composition, reflection and EXP. the pollen is a minus, IMO, taking a lot of attention away from the duck.
    Thanks for sharing this one.

Mentally I would have thought the fluffy things(dont think would call them pollen)
would have added to the pic,but it didnt work.
Beautiful bird and detail. The fluffy things(need to look up terminology) destroy the reflection and perhaps crop down to just the duck.

The duck is nicely posed with good sharpness, Caroline. The fluffy things are actually aspen seeds - not pollen. :) I don't mind them in the water all that much as they help set the time and place and give the image character, IMO.

Thanks for the comments guys. I wasn't sure about this one and appreciate your honest critiques. Akos, the image is 40% of original pixels. Steve, yes they are seeds... I should have expressed myself better.
