Took this at Cheyenne Bottoms (KS) last week. Not sure if it is a female or juvenile pheasant or a francolin? Thanks for the ID help!

I'm stumped on this one Anita. I'm pretty sure it's not a francolin, but I'm darned if I can tell you what it is, other than maybe a young, male pheasant.

    Hi Anita

Although John was a little unsure here, he has correctly ID'd & sexed this bird. It is a juvenile male pheasant.

    Cheers: Wayne

OK, thanks, John and Wayne. Birds can be hard to ID in their in-between stages, for sure!
