    Default Fear of flying

This juvenile Peregrine Falcon spent a great deal of time trying to talk herself into flying off the ledge on a steep cliff; mom was calling her from another ledge to come eat breakfast.

That's not the best kind of fear to have if you are a bird. No wonder she has second thoughts, it looks quite steep. :) Did she finally take the plunge? Great light, details, pose and BG.

    Doug:

Very nice, fun backstory. I don't blame her!

Techs are all nice. In the really minor category, I might burn in and reduce the contrast on the grey rock at the bottom of the frame. It is distinct enough to catch my eye a bit.

    Excellent overall.

Killer lovely with light, BKGR, and SH. Plus, a perfect HA. Love the implications of the bird looking down. A pano crop from the bottom to just a fraction above the top of the whtie rock below the tail might work.

You must have been pretty close and I will assume that you could not possibly have gotten any lower.

There was no possibility of a lower angle Artie. We were lying on the edge of 160 foot cliff with very little ability to move around.

Razor sharp and perfectly managed. I wish I could get this close to a Peregrine. :(

I like the inquisitive look, and how are those talons for a juv. I like the feather detail, together with the complimentary colours in the BG.

Ah! lovely capture. I think the from-above angles works very well here. It adds to the "steep drop" aspect of the BG. And the ledge lends it a 3-d feel.

    very very nice.

This is a superb image Doug. To my mind this perspective works as one would expect viewing these creatures somewhat from above.
