A couple of springs ago I was shooting on a small private pond that had a fair amount of waterfowl activity. There were at the time 8 pairs of geese trying to sort out their territories on a constant basis. This made for some spectacular fights. Mostly they were away from my blind or since I was in a blind it was often hard to "get on" them because the action was fast and furious. But on this occasion I caught a small series that wasnt horrible. I feel technically it could have been better, but at the time I was triumphant just to get the action on screen and somewhat in focus.... and not horribly misframed... lol
I called this one Coming in Hot which is kind of a double entendre....

Nice action shot! Head and neck position really good (that fierce look), splash really good, wing position could be better, but hey... The blurry clumps above the water line are somewhat distracting and I'm thinking you might be able to Gaussian blur them some?

A little noisy but otherwise pretty darned good. I would take just a very bit more off of the bottom, to just below the head reflection. I love teh splash, the splashdown, the open bill, and the pink toungue reflection.

    later and love, artie
