Yesterday morning was gloomy, overcast and foggy. I followed two pairs of Wood Ducks around near my wife's horse's paddocks. They are such endearing ducks, though I was lucky to get relatively close. This is a female.
I wish I had captured the peak of the wingspread, but I am still happy as I don't get to be so close locally to such wonderful moments.
30D and 300mm f/4L IS USM + 1.4x, ISO800, Manual Metering at +1 stop, f/6.3, 1/320th, 430ex at zero with beamer, HH, FF, small dark patch about half the size of duck's head masked in the ULC.
