    Minolta 7Xi, 600, Kodachrome 100.

This is one of the first backyard setups I did many years ago.
Not an easy species to get an upright pose with the tail down and crest up.
This is a juv on Bottlebrush, which I placed over a feeder.
I plucked a few leaves off the branch to entice him to land where he did, and covered the feeder with grass to interrupt his direct approach to the food.
When he landed on the perch, I gave a little high pitched squeak to get the lookback eye contact.

You make me sick! ;) Very nice, as usual. I'm still trying to figure out how to best go about a nice set-up in my yard. Stop by sometime :D

    Hi Alan,
Gorgeous shot, love the perch as I do with almost all you perches. Thanks for the revealing explanation regarding your set-up, gonna try that at my place as well!

    Cheers

    Hi Alan!

I have been admiring your work, and they are all way over at that next, next, next level. It is wonderful to be able to see them, and to try to study & learn from your work. Much appreciated!

This is just wonderful! It's interesting to know how you set it up -- I like the bird's pose even better than the terrific perch.
