    I captured this image at Laguna Atascosa this last spring. A very hard subject to capture since it kept jumping all over the mesquite tree.

    Like the pose and eye contact. Sharpness and exposure look good. I'd like to see a bit more room up top and on the right. Also, I wish that the leaves in front of the bird weren't casting a shadow on the bird.

    Ah, Laguna, I have fond memories of that place.
    Great shot! much better than what I was able to manage.
    I like the pose and BG but agree with Doug, regarding the foreground leaves.

    Check out the nuthatch impersonation pose! Too bad about the vegetation covering part of the subject, and the lighter highlights above are somewhat distracting. Still a fun bird, and a fun image :-)

    Great composition, a bit more at the top and 1/300 might have been a tad soft or possible some sharpening. Could be my monitor too, well done. A unique picture that feels good.
