This was taken at a water drip pond. I set the perch with berries over the pond.
Not the easiest bird to get out into the open.

Nicely done, Alan. Lovely pose and the berries are a nice element. May be nicer if the berries on the left matched those on the right in terms of colour and condition. A sliver more room at the top and toning down the bright areas on the leaves may be options.

    Alan:

Tony hit the main points. HA, pose, sharpness and exposure all nice. I also agree about toning down the leaves, esp. the low one at the botttom of the frame. I appreciate that the entire perch is in your plane of focus.

    Thanks for sharing.

Amazing, everything looks great, from pose, detail, colors, BG, perch, exposure, light, and the one thing I like the best is the strached finger of the left foot. Indeed nice! Congratulations Alan!

Great details, angle, BG and I like that the setup looks very natural. I'd love to see this species someday.

I know what you mean about it not being the easiest bird to see.
There has been one of these in my neck of the woods that has been eluding people (myself included) lately.
Seeing this awesome shot makes me want to go out tomorrow morning to look for it again though.
Great detail, I love the pose, BG and perch, which I don't mind at all.

Great pose on a nice perch. Sharpness is top-notch. I would tone down the entire right half of the perch though.
