Baboons are always guaranteed to give one some sort of pose, that will make an interesting image. I captured this guy in the Kruger National Park recently. He was sitting next to the road, and was trying to eat something hard. I decided on this image due to his lazy posture. My own critque is the tar road in the FG, but liked the late afternoon light on the surrounding grasses.

I love the sharpness, the pose, and the quality of the light. I agree with the edge of the road being in the FG, otherwise I find it a fine image.

HAhahahaa, you made my day, this is sooo cool. Too bad we can't see the toothpick ;)
Good self critique and I'll add he is too centered. Cropping from the right of the frame would take care of that since he's looking left.

First-rate, Stuart. That expression is priceless. I agree with the suggestion to crop off the right.

I think the subject gets a bit lost against the bright background. I would reverse that a little: brighten the subject, dim the background.

Good repost by David. The two problems--light from our left and the mouth hidden behind the hands, would have been solved by moving (the vehicle) way to your left....

Stuart, As created I am OK with him dark and the BG bright and think he is set off from the BG sufficiently. Not much you can crop from the right due to his tail. Giving more to room to the left would solve that but a shorter focal length or move would be required. Artie's suggestion on moving is the best.

Nice image Stuart. I've seen people have this same pose and look on many a Summer day. I don't mind the road, makes me think he's waiting for a ride. Agree with you on the light and grasses being a plus.
