Just a teal. Not enough DOF for everything so had to choose - focused on the eye and let the rest fall were it may.
Wanted the BG OOF though.

you certainly made the eye stand out! very attention grabbing image. I have never seen one of these birds, is this coloring accurate? or did you desaturate? i really like how you made the blue and the eye stand out. I like the stance and the backward look at the viewer, to me, it shows a lot of energy in the photo.
Lance, what a wonderful composition. I love the tension of the bird standing on one leg and the elegant s-curve made by the body. Now, about that DOF...:)

one sweet image, lance! 'nuff said.
Mr. Peters...this is one sweet image...I like the back head turn and the crystal sharp eye...I like the depth of field inter play...well done...
Good looking duck Lance !!! Good point on the dof selection !!
Lance, Nice pose and HA, clean BG and sharp eye! The one foot is great!
Thanks guys - coulouring is accurate - the Eye is electris red - the spend a lot of time in amongst the reeds and really blend in - The red eye gives them away every time.
Cheryl - notthing was done to the colours at all - the blue is what it is.
I really don't give these guys enough time - guess its because they are so common that I tend to overlook them.
Lovely Lance. Dark BG. light bird, and the eye draws you right in. Stellar work:)
Great Grey Teal mate, nice head angle and eye contact. Love it. :)
