    Default First one this year...

First one this year and I wasnt setup for macro :( 4 spotted chaser ??? I think it looks better bigger but will be interested to hear what people think.

Canon 50D, 100-400@330 almost minimum focusing distance, f6.3, 1/800, iso 400, hand held and just a quick chance to catch him.

Tell, you got nice details throughout the insect but your light is really harsh. Was this taken in the midday sun? If so, you might opt for an early morning or very late afternoon so you get the softer light and less burnout on the perch and wings.

I recropped a bit closer to let you get another view of this. Just because you forgot your macro lens doesn't mean you can't get a close-up! Go in tighter on the crop and let that DF carry the show.

Hey Tell, agree with the tighter crop. Good details and I do like the BG.
