The yard is full of immature and first year birds. Most are pretty ugly and homely looking with sparse head feathers, dull coloring and immature type bills.
This Tufted Titmouse was perhaps the most attractive of the lot, even though he is a "plain Jane"(please no E mails from angry Janes).
Chas.

NIce pose, and good use of flash. Sharp as a tack. I have a lot of juvie titmice in my yard as well. I would crop some from the top and bottom. Assuming this was a set up, I would prefer a different perch. This one is a little too dead looking for me, and I don't like the the twigs that have been cut off.
Keep them coming!

Interesting perch, nice pose, good sharpness, and a nice BG. I'd probably not go with a square crop, and I might desat the green spot in the BG just a little. The cut-off branches are less than ideal. Thanks for posting!
Nice work, Chas. Good use of fill flash. I'd give a standard 3:2 horizontal frame a try. Your subject will take up a bit more space in the frame, without feeling cramped, and have more impact on the viewer. A head angle looking slightly toward you would have been ideal, but parallel to the film plane is pretty darn good too. Well done.
Super image - I dont like the square crop personally - would prefer a more conventional approach - less room on top and below, with more room to the left. Super exposure and BG with good detail on the bird. Nice glint in the eye!
