    Alan:

Lovely bird, carefully framed, well exposed, nice singing posture, HA.

the flowers are so vivid, that I find the tall one on the left a bit distracting. Something about the color combination also fights a bit with the bird for me.

I think these flowers with a bird of a different color( or just one color!) might work a smidge better.

Again, this is a technically well done photo, really a matter personal taste on the flower/bird combination.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Randy

I love the pose and colours. The image looks a little bright to me and I think a slightly darker version would be worth comparing. Abobe RGB will be affecting how this is displayed in a non-colour managed browser. Another lovely image, Alan.

Nice image. Love the singing pose. How do you get them to sit there on the set-up perch and sing for you? Is that pure luck? :)

It's good to have goals... Was your client happy? Love the HA and of course the singing pose.

May I assume that this was a tape job?

Last question: did you bring the flowers to the set or create the set around the flowers?

    Hey Artie,

Client was happy for sure. Yes I used a recording and I did use the flowers that were growing all around to set up the shot. The BG flowers were there already. The forground flowers were placed near the perch. The vision was in my head before I left the house.

    Hello Alan,

For me the photo is technically well done. You having it pre-visualized and carried out makes it very special. Congratulations for this image.

I love everything about this image, except for the wilted flower at the bottom of the perch. Congrats on another fine image!

I agree that the tall flower on the left competes with the bird for attention but apart from than and knowing the effort put into getting this image, all I can say is STUNNING!.

Congrats on a wonderful image. That must be the more original perch I've seen in a while.

I love this capture, set up or not. The flowers work beautifully, and the wilted one in the FG adds yet another dimension. The only consideration I may make would be to clone out the OOF flower behind the bird's head.

Thank you for sharing. You do amazing work!

For me this is one of the best images I have ever seen. The colors and the OOF blooms in the BG give this great dimension.

Don't think because it was a setup it is simple to recreate, all the elements have to fall in place and it is HARD work.
