    Default GBH Nestmates

I have been following the nesting phases of about 4-5 GBH pairs. With one exception, all the babies have now fledged. This was taken about 7 weeks ago of two fledglings in the nest, where the exhibited this interesting pose. Used Olympus E-510, 70-300mm lens + EC-14 TC. ISO 400, 1/2500sec., f/8, AP, Center Metered, EV-1/3, 177mm. Cropped for composition.

Hi Milt - good looking youngsters :)
Like the complimentary poses and good HA'S.
Feels a tad tight on the sides to me, could use some NR on the background and I would sharpen the eyes just a tad.
The sticks from the nest on the LHS are a little distracting - but is part of the nest and I wouldn't remove them.
    keep them coming :)

Lovely GBHs. I agree about the nest sticks, but still looks great with them included.

    Hi Milt,
I like the capture...you have good head angles and sharp details...agree with Mr. Peters on running noise reduction in the background and selective sharpening the eye...looking forward to your next one...

Excellent capture sir. Techs have been covered well, and think Mr. Forns' suggestion of bumping up the shadow detail would make this one over the top. Well done!

    Default Made Some Changes

I made some of the suggested changes. Lightened the feathers, more room left and right and some sharpening. Since I don't have a noise reduction program, I did not address the background noise. How doe the image look now?

Milt, the extra space is good but I would evict the pieces of brush that are now evident in the left and right edges of the frame. The exposure would probably be best if you were to split the difference between the original and the repost. As for the noise, it has increased quite a bit and needs to be dealt with to make the image happy. If you are using PS, the noise reduction filter that it has is not too bad and could help here. Otherwise I would recommend Noise Ninja stand alone, not too expensive.
