Nice image of the bird. The crop is unusual and needs to have less negative space around the bird I think. The out of focus dark lines coming in from the top are not helping, I would suggest a tighter crop, a vertical closer to the bird to get rid of more of the bg. The catchlight looks a bit odd to me.
Hi Tom, All excellent stuff by Mike. I would add that if this is your backard and birds are coming to your feeders you need to do a much better job of selecting and positioning your perches...
