I know...everyone else gets BIF images for their 5,000 post. I got a common grackle walking through the grass. Story of my life!

Nothing wrong with a grackle, they are quite beautiful. I'm not loving that large piece grass in front of him, competes too much.

Congrats on 5000! Looking forward to the next 5000.

Same setup I use and grackles are challenging, the dark shades and glossy tones can retard flash. Nice image and I am loving the detail you pulled out with the slow shutter, well done.

Might take a little off the top and the left, but what do I know. I am more than 4K post behind you (smile) - nice picture.

I like the iridescence of grackles and agree with Grace regarding the single blade of grass that could go.

Thanks, I had a hard time deciding between taking it out and leaving it in. I did remove a really long piece from right behind him but still struggled with the two in front of him.

Julie, I like the DOF in this, and those colours really stand out against the grassy BG. I like the pose.

I like the trim off the top and the blade in front eliminated - nice PS work.
