Image came out a little softer than I would like; could have been the lighting conditions, but then again technique?

    Bill:

Striking composition, lovely pose, nice transillumination of wings.

Yes, a bit soft. There are some colored blotches in the white background, a prominent spot above the junction of the neck and wing on the right.

I really like the overall effect, certainly worth some more time to tweak it a bit!

Post processing... Love the white on white high key but the bird needed some snap. Increased the YELLOW SAT with a QM of he lores and the feet and then a QM of the bird with a contrast mask. Voila; a huge improvement I think....

Thanks Randy and Arthur. Arthur, you are quick! I posted this just a few minutes ago. Definite improvement as well. Appreciate the assistance as always. Oh, Randy, I did miss a few spots, didn't I? regards~Bill

    Artie:

I noticed the blotches were gone in your repost. What caused them, and what caused them to go away on the repost ( besides yourself, of course!)

Arthur: I sure missed the red cast, and it is obvious with your repost. Note to self:check images for color cast.regards~Bill
Randy: I don't know what happened to the remaining splotches , but they were on the original, and I thought I had removed all of them.

Randy, I never saw the blotches and did not remove them. At times, I see lots of artifacting in an image, but when I open the same image in another pane, it is gone. Perhaps that's what happened.

Hi Bill, superb white on white image. Its amazing how many shades of white one can see with the naked eye. Super comp, and love the posture with the outspread wings. Great capture.

Nice work David on eliminating the blue cast. I do prefer the bright yellow lores in my version though.

I like the pose and interesting discussion. Adding to the other comments, I might sharpen the bird a tad more.

Good point. I agree. I should have punched that area up.
