    Default Common Crane (Grus grus)

This image was created today at 05:24 in the morning. The location is north of the town Falun in Sweden. If you look close you can see the cold breath from the crane!

    Canon 40D, Canon EF300/2.8L IS USM, 2x extender, 600mm, f6.3, iso 500, 1/320s
    Almost full frame.

Pretty cool to see the breath. I also like the angle and BG and would sharpen the bird more, particularly the head. Some lightening of the head would be good, too. It might also work as vertical crop.

Calling pose and foggy breath is great. I like the low angle with the grass. Agree with Axel re lightening teh head. May also be an option to darkening the trees in front of the crane a little.

I think your adjustments have lifted the image nicely. I like the calling posture and the contrast with the forest background. I'm a real big fan of Grus grus!

Is this crane passing through or do they stay with you now through the summer.

The repost is a big improvement. Too bad that the head was against the darkest part of the forest....m Love the bird's bustle.
