Not my usual style, but when this scrub jay landed in a flowering red-leafed plum tree, I couldn't resist.

I can see why you couldn't resist it. If this photo were mine, I think I would try to do something to help the viewers focus more on the bird, assuming that's what you want primarily. I am thinking of perhaps lowering the brightness of the flowers, enhancing the colors of the bird, or simply crop tighter so that the bird take up more space of the final image. There can still be flowers around the bird but just think cropping a bit tighter could help the viewers see the bird better.

    Thanks for sharing!

I like this one. The BG bits of blue sky compliment the bird's color nicley. I agree with Desmond on a tighter crop (I'd take some off the top).

stunning setting! the bird's colours actually contrast the flowers' nicely - but I agree you should try and tone down the flowers a tad and saturate the bird a bit more to make it pop.

Aidan, difficult situation, but you have pulled it off nicely. I would darken the flowers a tad more, plus adding a bit of blur too. I would add a bit more contrast to the bird.

Ditto Desmond. I wish only that the bird had perched a lot lower in the tree....
