I took the picture this morning, along with quite a few more. This one is my best. I post it not because it is good but because I've been watching this GBH nest from when it was first built to egg-laying to hatching to feeding, and still I get very few decent pictures with my set-up. I do not have enough "quality reach" with my lens. However, I have so much time and interest invested in this project that I've decided to post anyway, before the youngsters are fully fledged. This nest is 60 feet above ground; earlier I watched a feeding -- so Mom will be back. These guys look big enough to fly, don't they -- should be in a week or two. I've cropped heavily and cloned out branches and adjusted the image quite a bit. I know it is still not great . . . but it's all I've got. Comments would be appreciated.
Hi Wendell - Lucky you - getting to watch these guys :) Three good HA :)
Suffers from the large crop of course and light not ideal.
I might have given them a bit room to get them out of the centre a bit.
Dont know if you could have done much better with what you have.
Hi Wendell,
I like the capture, you have a good head angle and all are looking in the same direction...agre with Mr. Peters on the techs. the colors look a bit funky, possibly due to post processing and the details on the feathers look a bit soft...looking forward to your next one...
Alfred, about 15% of the original image is presented. As noted, I decided to post some kind of record of this experience, in spite of everything. When I took this picture I was standing beside a guy who was clicking away with his 600mm lens, all the while bravely masking (I hope) my envy . . .
