A protected beach for the elephant seals who have come to molt. ( Four miles north of the Hearst Castle on Highway 1) Lots of barking and posturing going on mingled with sprays of sand from their flippers to cover and cool them. They are not too pretty right now.

Jackie I find the different coat colors appealing and the one with open mouth showing all that red sure spikes up the image !!! Might even crop the top below the flipper to focus on the open mouth !!! Excellent !!
Hi Jackie...I like the image alot. I agree with Alfred on the cropping. Before I read the comments I tried the crop myself and liked it. I think the image would be stronger with the crop...
Excellent composition, Jackie. I prefer the original crop with the flipper showing; that conveys (to me) that these guys are lolling around in all sorts of postures.
Like the photo lots....prefer the uncropped version as it shows they have room but chose to be close casue they wanted to be. The scars could be from fighting...when they come to shore the males usually come first and they will fight for superiority.
