    Default Marabou and Flamingo

As soon as the Flamingo dropped to the ground, the Marabou was all over it.
Image taken at Lake Nakuru, Kenya.

I know its a bit tight to the left....

Man, this is gruesome...but that's nature! I like the flamingos in the BG, adds alot to the scene and story. The face of the stork is rather darkish, it may be worth opening up the shadows there. Too bad it is angled away from us, and I agree with your self critique (tight at left).

    This is very impressive!
That Marabou must be hungry. Nature is nature. Good thing you were able to capture this moment.

Ditto Dan. What caused the flamingo to drop to the ground?

    Yup nature is nature.
Arthur, the Flamingo was looking a bit sick as it was very weak, and we were talking about the Flamingo
as it dropped to the ground dead. A few seconds later this Marabou came in and started eating the Flamingo.

Danny, great sighting. Yes, Marabou storks are scavangers, so he was in the right place at the right time. I like the inclusion of the other OOF flamingo's in the BG. Powerful image. I had a look at your gallery. Great work.

Thanks Danny. He started eating it after a good stab to the back! I have been to Nakura several times and have only seen them picking at decayed carcasses.
