Good pose, eye contact, composition and background. I really don't know if a wider dof ( including the legs and the stick) should improve the composition. Can't find faults Lance!

This is one sweet image...I like the composition, image and capture...I like the ultra low angle of capture. You have sharp details, a good head angle and clear sharp eye...the color rendition is superb, and the multi color background compliments your subject quite well...congrats...

Hi Lance, nice composition of a lovely bird, I do find the oof legs and perch a little offputting though.

I like the overall tones and feel Would be nice having the feet in focus but stopping down even to f 45 would not do it !!! Excellent !!!

Hi - AL is correct even at F45 legs woukld not have been in focus - so the important thing is to have what the main focus is to be sharp - mostly the eye area.

Big Lens +Small Bird + Close to camera = very narrow DOF even at higher FSTOPS
Big Lens+Small Bird + Further away from camera = higher DOF at same FSTOP

    you get the idea. :)

One thing I noticed about this photo is the colors. Warm tone in the foreground and cool in the background. I think that's what suggested for landscape photos, too. I don't know if Mr. Peters planned it that way :)

    Another fine one!
