Fake Heron Works

This may not be the correct place to post this so moderators please move if appropriate.

You may remember that last year I had a GBH stalking my small water garden with goldfish that are about 10 inches long. Unfortunately, my neighbor about 1/4 mile away shot it.

Well, this year another heron began to stalk our pond. After observing how territorial the GBH can be while photographing with Al and Fabs I decided to spend the $40 for a realistic looking fake heron. Well, it works! It has been more than 2 months without a GBH visitor terrorizing our fish.

Just thought you would like to know.

Now, if I can stop the black bear from destroying our bird feeders I would be happy. I have solved this by taking the bird food in every night!

RE the image it is not an image for critique. It is a snapshot of the "Guardian" for illustration purposes only. I don't have a lot of time tonight to do a proper image. Please forgive.

Great idea Ed !!! Might want to take a pic of the heron and post it !!! :) ... btw moving this one to the Id/behavior/nomenclature !!!

Here is another image showing the "Guardian" and a wider view of the pond. In the BG you can see our deck and "Yoda" our Himalayan Persian cat who rules the house watching me as he hangs over the deck railing. I am glad that the "Guardian" is doing his job well.

Again, please don't judge the image as I did a really fast LR upload and conversion for the web just to illustrate the Guardian at work.
