I got up early to photograph the sunrise at Matheson Hammock. The sunrise itself was not that spectacular, but the early morning light was fabulous. Canon 5D MK II, ISO 200, f/2.8, 1/800 sec, EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, 35mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Comments Welcome.....

    Hey Mr. Waas,
It was a pleasure seeing you yesterday at Gold Coast...:)
I like this composition, image and capture...the color rendition is sweet, I like that soft glow and the palm reflection in the water...my only suggestion is to give it a .89 CW rotation and you should be set...I like this very much...looking forward to your next one...

Let me know when you want to do the nocturnal wild life at South Beach...:D

I like the colors and the sharpness. Beautiful ! But, would you consider darkening the sky a bit so that it looks more like...early morning ? :D

Gorgeous image Richard !!! About the only suggestion I have is stopping down more for dof I think you could have had the foreground grasses totally sharp !!!

Great idea going out there early morning ... been there early lots of times but heading out on a boat !!!

Hi Richard - like it a lot - Agree with AL - shooting at 2.8 guessing you did not have a tripod with you - would have stopped down a fair bit to increase the DOF.

loooking forward to seeing more :)

Did not have a tripod at the time, although I thought about the DOF and my thoughts were that it was early morning and wanted the foreground reeds to be a little dreamy and your eye to be drawn to the back. Next time I'll try the other way and see.

Nice scenic Richard, agree with Desmond's point about darkening the sky. I like the palms reflecting in the water. Wonder about the reeds being in focus too??
