Seemed as if the Least Tern was counting the eggs to see if the Gulls got any , or perhaps looking to see if any hatched?

Hey Joe,
I guess that was you there Saturday at Nickerson. Light got a bit better after you guys left.....brighter diffused.....but the fill flash here definitely worked and added just the bit of light needed. Love the look of the tern counting the eggs too. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks there.
Hi Joe. I like the nesting behavior, the low angle, and the eye contact. I suspect you had some room to push the exposure to the right; it may have pulled a bit more detail out of the blacks. I find the plant in front of the bird somewhat distracting.

I like the captured behavior and pose and would crop a bit off the top and would try to get more details in the blacks.
Lovely scene captured here, nice light and detail, I wish for more detail in the blacks and I see a halo arround the head. Congratulations!
Those eggs are well camoflauged. I like the tern's posture, and you have exposed him nicely. I would try and lighten the eye.
