This was 2 images that I merged together. The BG image was flipped and faded a bit(originally it was the top of Mt. Minsi after an ice storm)

love the idea and the bg seems perfect, but for some kind of hawk or eagle, even an owl. the bird here seems out of place. is that a willet?

Harold, The Sandpiper was the unexpected element to give this a surreal look-:) I was trying to stay w/ the theme. This is new to me!!

    Denise,

That's one beautifully designed photo. Like the placement and color of the bird with wing pattern against
    this superb BG.

Denise - this is absolutely beautiful, very Asian feeling as well as surreal. I love the muted bg in contrast
to the sharpness of the sandpiper.

Very cool image and certainly surreal. Love the mood and Japanese painting look. The bird is a Dunlin.

A Dunlin is a sandpiper. The bill alone is diagnostic as to species in North America at least.

Hey Denise...very surreal and appealing image. I feel the bird is placed well, lit beautifully and makes the image. It also suggests an oriental quality about it with the cool blue adding to the feeling. Well done!

VG photoshop work Denise. Think you have explored surreal very well with this picture including your choice of bird. I really like the ice on the branches too.
