    There was no way I could get this pair sharp on both ends. so as they were swimming by, I made one image for the female and rapidly made a second image, with the focus in the male. Luckily, they had no changed much in the position (and I was fast) and so I used the male from the second image to get the both of them in focus.

    D3, 200-400/4 plus 1.7X
    Av wide open @ f/6.7 -1/3 Ev
    Iso 500

    Love the end result !!!!! Great head angle for both and excellent positions !!!!

    Again with the beautiful water!! This works well in setting off the heads of the pair. I might suggest a tad more room on the tail edge of the image, but this is a nit.

    Hi Fab,

    You did well in photoshop. I wish for the ducks to have the same light and not just the head. Overall a nice composition!

    Here it is: Selected the male Duck from second picture with Quick mask. You can so it with the Lasso Tools if it's easier for you, don't forget to feather. Copy and paste over first picture. Erase the unnecesary weither with eraser tool or masking the layer and painting it black.
