    Hi Sten, You did fairly well with the light from the right. The bird is a bit dark and I suspect that the original was even darker as +1/3 would be to little plus COMP with my Mark III bodies in this situation. Having the eye in the darkest shadow is a problem. Lightening the bird and then the iris (without over-doing either) might be the way to go. I do like the dorsal view. An option would be a VERT crop while adding canvas above and below....

    Great banking angle, showing good detail from the top. Some TLC work will make this pop, as Artie has covered the points.

    The banking pose and eye contact look good. Adding to the other suggestions, you could have gone to ISO 400 to be able to dial in more positive EC.

    Sten, very nice pose! Agree that it is a little dark; would like to see it after following Artie's suggestions.
