    Default European Brown Bear

From Finland last night close to the Russian border from a hide. Bigger ones will follow. I thought to start with a cute one. :)

    Canon EOS 5DII, 4.0/70-200L IS at 183 mm, f4, 1/200 sec, ISO 800

    What do you think?

    Regards

I think it's adorable, great compo and the trees are so carefully place, the green one to the left framing the bear and the two to the right making and echo. Being extra picky, a bit more room for him to walk to and selectively lightening the left side of the face may work.
    Congrats on a fine image.

Nicely composed. The tree behind the bear adds some nice color and texture and gives a good hint of the habitat.

It is a cute one! I like the environment you show. As Fabs said the trees balance nicely.

Very well done. Inclusion of habitat is a big plus here. Exposure and sharpness look good.

Hi Bernhard, lovely shot of a beautiful animal, especially like the bg to give a sense of the enviroment.

Was this taken at Martinselkonen ? if so can you give me a little advise as I am going there early July. I am planning to take a Wide-angle, 70-200 f2.8 and 100-400 f5.6. Do you think this will cover everything for the Bears as I don't really want to take my 500 f4. I know a 500 would be benificial for birds there but I am mainly interested in the Bears - thanks for any advise you can give me.

    Hi Tell,

yes, it was taken at Martinselkonen. I suggest to take the 500, not for the extra reach but for the extra stop. Most of my pictures are taken with 800 to 1600 ISO with 1/125 to 1/250 at f4.

    Regards

    Bernd
