    Default Catwalk

    D2X, 600VR + TC 14 , ISO400, 1/1000th @ F5.6, -0.3EV

    BAndhavgarh National Park, India

The walkway is the cement edge of a dam. I lined up so that I have very little of it in the frame. Yes this is a tad over sharpened I think but that was with the intention of bringing out the water droplets at the bottom right. Should do that selectively .

Lovely creature. Dam or not, this image needs more room on the bottom. Love the raised foot but wish for a bit more eye contact.

Agree with Artie here, some more room is needed on lower frame. Nice comp.

Actually, the image might be interesting if the concrete dam was removed completely so that the cat was walking on the frame edge. Do an online crop and take a look at it without the dam - I like it. And, I like the image too!! Cheers, Jay

I like the light and colours in this, together with the raised paw. It was best to sharpen the droplets by themselves. I would include more of the dam wall, concrete or not, it will add to the comp by having more space for the feet.

The colors and BG are awesome. Agree on sharpening only the drops. About the composition, I looked at it for a long time and decided I like as presented, it is daring and creates tension.

    Krish,
Nice moment captured. I wish you had created this image two years back as the water was overflowing the dam at that time. The colour is too yellow for a tiger. However, it gives a nice feel. I won't mind the dam surface to be minimised provided I want the attention on the face of the tiger. In this case the attention is being drawn towards the droplets at the bottom and hence the tightness of the frame at the bottom is being pointed out. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

I tend to agree with Fabs on this one. The original has a little more of the tiger with, a bit of the rear foot inside the frame. When I made this image, the idea was to keep that "tension" cause I had seen earlier pics of the complete tiger and thought Id do a variation. I think this works for me cause you want / expect to see the entire animal and that kind of adds to the "drama" of the cat just entering the frame.
