    Default Spotted Flycatcher

    Hi

First time I have managed to put one of these birds in front of the camera. More by luck than judegement though!!

Taken with 1Dmk3 with 500mm lens on tripod from pop-up hide. Taken at ISO400 F5.6 1/100s +0.33 EV with evaluative metering.

    Cheers

Outstanding! BG is superb, perch is fantastic, great pose, prey, detail, sharpness, light and colors, I would only consider to tone down the thail's bright edge as I find it a tad distracting.
Big congratulatons on a stunning shot!

    A real fly-catcher :)
Nice image. Sharpness is nice and focus is on the eye. Exciting perch adds.

Very nice image with the beautiful BG and sharpness. I like the perch; I'd crop off a little on the left side, just the have the entire perch sharp.....just my personal taste. Very well done.

Beautiful image, Rich and the perch is fantastic! So nice to see something other than a dry twig. I agree about the tail feathers - I'd tone down the bright edge also. Lovely details and exposure.

Great shot. Great bg comp and catch a bonus. Was this a big crop. Looks to have lost a bit of detail

Rich, excellent exposure, with good detail. I like the perch, and I can see a vertical crop in this. His catch a bonus.

Thanks for replies and suggestions. The image is not much of a crop at all but was taken in relatively poor light hence the low shutter speed. The toning down of the white tail border is an interesting suggestion.

    Cheers
