Default Viera Caracara and leg bands

I would have been real pleased with this image if not for the ugly leg bands. Would you be tempted to clone them out and what method would you use?

    Hi Jeff,

Very nice image of this Viera Caracara. I like the head and wing position, the blue sky bg, and the sharp details. I do wish that there was more detail visible in the near wing. The bands don't really detract much form the image, IMO, but I would still clone them out. Cloning leg bands is relatively quick and easy. I would selct the area with bands using Rrobert O's quick mask technique and then just clone from the surrounding areas while trying to make it look natural and consistant with the rest of the leg.

If you want Caracara images that don't have leg bands, then try the Canoe Creek Rd. area. There are lots of Caracaras and almost all of them do not have bands.

I don't mind the leg bands. I think that you did a very nice job with this one. All the techs are good. You might be able to get a little more detail out of the near wing. Well done.

The near wing shadow is typical of this type of shot. Unless you get him early in the morning or get him banking, your going to get this.

I have images of him banking with the back and the radio transmitter clearly shown. Here you can only see a bit of the antenna. That I would clone for sure. The leg bands are you call - I am good either way.

I have cloned the transmitter out of my image.
