This exciting new bird for me showed itself on Ambergris Caye, Belize at a water structure. The first one I saw was a molting bird with mixed coloration on the head.

Nice colors, sharp, good HA. On my monitor, the overall image is a bit dim for my taste.
I might clean up the catchlights a bit.

    Thanks for sharing!

Lovely species, pose, colors, BG, perch and detail, I would only suggest a bit more contrast and a smaller signature as it is a bit distracting. Congratulations!
Here's a respost with my suggestions, hope you don't mind.

I am always afraid of blasting the pic and cautious about that, but perhaps I shouldn't.
No ,I do not mind any suggestions-sometimes they are conflicting but always educational.
    That is why I post.
It is funny but I pushed the contrast more than I would normally, and perhaps I should rethink that also.
    Thanks everyone for looking

    Ramon,
I notice that you let the background go dark and that actually closer to the original image.
Wonder if that was result of increasing contrast or did you mean to do that ?

Great capture Chas. My preference is for the original with a slight crop off bottom. The repost is a tad too dark for me. Good looking eye. Dave

Ramon your repost looks very dark. I think the whole image should be lighter and then maybe add just a bit of contrast.
    Still really nice well done
Don't think you can loose some space bottom and right?

I like the angle, eye contact and details. Contrast looks good in the repost but it is a bit too dark for my taste.

Yeah, BG ended a little darker than what I wanted, but I was paying atention to contrast on th bird, I think a good option would be t leave BG as the OP and give more contrast to the bird only.
Again, congratulaitons on a wonderfull image.
