Hey Alfred, This is a little different comp wise but it definitely looks good to me, looks like a vert. on it's side?! Exposure looks great also. I love seeing pics of Osprey's in flight (my favorite bird). How bad does the 1.4tc slow down the 400's auto focus? I'm considering that combo my next major purchase. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting overhead view Al, and good wingspread! The hint of clouds is a nice touch. Maybe tone down the lighter of the two legs?

Hi Brian The 400 with converter produces very sharp images and the AF speed is reasonable, this is not a fast bird by any means but does show it can track !!

Thanks Daniel good suggestion with the legs !!!

This is a little different perspective than I'm used to seeing on these birds - I'm still trying to figure out if some rotation would help. My brain wants to do something with this. :) :) Otherwise, it's all good, Alfred. I like the soft light, the detail in the shadows, the pose, the sharpness, and the hint of clouds in the sky.

Very nice Alfred. Interesting how you went with 400 x 1.4 vs 500 straight up. I guess the 400 must be easier for hand holding. I also like how you went with 1000ISO. Dave

Excellent detail, I wonder what it looks like with a 90 degree CW rotation?

Hi Alfred, I think that 400 f4 is an underated lens. It is fast and sharp, My son has one and I am envious. I believe that it is the lens to be used to start bif photography.
I like this shot due to the pose, comp and feather detail captured.

Alfred, lovely landing posture, showing the full wingspread. Well exposed on the underwing, with good detail.
