    I think this is a Cooper's Hawk, but would like some conformation. I don't have the other picture of him but from head to toe he was very close to 15.75 inches. It was after the sparrows at my back yard feeder.

    Thanks for any info.

    Looks like a Cooper's but they are easy to confuse with sharp-shinned hawks. Seeing the entire bird might help IDing it.

    Coopers it is. Thin brown striping on the breast of this young bird (yellow eye) clinches it.
