Its amazing, just the other day, I celebrated 1000, now Im on 2000. This was taken on my recent trip to the Kruger National park. Since you cant get out your car, these guys stress you out, as they soar around, out of sight on the other side of the car, then my side, so you have to take what you can. When these guys mature, the area around the beak towards the eye turns bright red, and their feathers turn black.

    Stuart:

Congrats on 2000! You are pulling away from me, I will have to work harder!!

Nice comp, sharpness and underwing detail. You probably can tease out a bit more detail on the down wing with some subtle shadow work.

How big of a crop is this?

    Again, congrats!

Congratulations on the milestone! I like the wing position and eye contact in this one. I wouldn't sharpen it more since it would bring out more noise than details.

Congratulations on the milestone, Stuart. Nice image to celebrate - I like the feather textures in the juvenile plumage. A bit more than +0.67EC may have captured more underwing detail and limited the amount of PP adjustment but may have risked blowing the top of the head - in this situation I usually am using +1.3 as a starting point

I cant keep up with your post rate Stu, you have too much time, congrats.
Good pose and well captrured. Looks like you have a bit of noise on the feathers, could be from extracting detail?

Great pose and comp. Did well here. Was this a big crop cause it looks like you maybe lost some detail?

I know how hard it is to get a decent shot out of your car window as they soar left and right - I still haven't got one. a VWD from me. lovely detail and strong comp.
